ENERDRY CONSTRUCTORS LTD

CATEGORIES: Design / Engineering, Fabrication / Welding

Enerdry Constructors Ltd began operation on December 11th, 1984 as an industrial sheet metal fabrication and erection service company initially catering to the needs of the Pulp and Paper Industry, specializing in custom fabrication with metals including stainless steel, aluminum, mild steel, corten, aluminized steel, galvanized steel, and wear plate.

The company soon branched out to service different industry sectors including Mining, Grain, Potash, Commercial Services, Power Generation and Engineering Companies. Resulting from market diversity, Enerdry Constructors has developed the capabilities to perform any type of custom fabrication with an unparalleled standard of craftsmanship.

Capabilities:
  • The facility is 3,500 m² (38,000 sq. ft.).
  • The fabrication facility is comprised of a number of different areas – this provides some dedicated work zones, as well as flexibility.  This also allows us to segregate work if necessary – to control cross contamination of stainless steel with mild steel.
  • Our High Bay area with 4 overhead cranes allows for fabrication of large items as well as pre-assemble/fit-up prior to shipping to site.
  • Additional to the above is material storage.

We have a large secured fenced lay down area 18,580 m² (200,000 sq. ft.) with 560m² (6000 sq. ft.) of portable storage to store manufactured goods. This allows us the option to store large quantities of equipment, to be shipped at the same time to arrive at site at the same time or to suit specific receiving requirements.  This also builds insurance

  • Equipment includes:
  • Computer Driven High Definition Plasma Cutting table – 25mm (1")
  • 1 only 3m (10 ft) Press Break x 275 ton
  • 1 only 4m (12 ft) CNC Press Break x 275 ton
  • 1 only 3m (10 ft) Metal Shear up to 6.25mm (1/4")
  • 1 only 4m (12 ft) Metal Shears up to 6.25mm (1/4")
  • 4 Iron Workers
  • Ring Roller (87 x 87 x 10mm)2
  •  2 Horizontal Band Saws
  • 50 Welding Machines
  • 3 Fork Lifts 1 to 6Ton
  • 4 Field Vehicles.

Quality control:

  • We are BS EN ISO 9001:2000 certified. as well as ISO – 14001:2004 Environmental Management System.
  • Welding operations are certified by the CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) to CSA W47.1 to weld to W59.
  • We have two welding supervisors on staff that check welding and provide training. We also have retained the services of Omniweld Integrated to provide Welding Engineering service to us.
  • All manufacturing work is processed using individual manufacturing work travelers which have quality checks that are signed off by the worker/foremen.

On time delivery assurance:

  • We have an extensive capacity planning system.  Its success is founded on:
  • A detailed manufacturing schedule which breaks down individual jobs into smaller more manageable parts but at the same time integrates all jobs onto a master schedule. This ensures that resources are not rob from "peter to pay paul". Conflicts between jobs are controlled. This schedule is updated weekly.  It schedules and tracks manufacturing start, shipping and on site dates, total hours, manpower requirements, and progress.
  • A regular weekly production meeting attended by the Manager, Manufacturing Superintendent, Project Management, Scheduling clerk, Shipping and Shop foremen and purchasing/shipping.   Agenda not only reviews progress on all current work on a job by job basis, it also reviews quality issues, shop issues, safety issues, shipping/receiving, and manpower / capacity issues.  Team participation and ownership of work by all is encouraged and expected.
  • Large lay down area in yard to consolidate shipments, which allows more time to arrange and co-ordinate shipments.
  • Excellent working relationship with a local freight company.  Competent, and reliable. They are here when we need them and deliver when required.
  • We maintain a material inventory, of approx. 850 MEURO ($1.2 million) in raw materials and consumables, to insure we have material when we need it.  We also have an extensive material suppliers network, with excellent on time delivery track records.  Our buying power is the largest of this type in this area, providing us with excellent material pricing.

Safety:

We have an extensive in house safety program including:

  • A health and safety policy and procedures manual
  • A Joint Health and Safety Committee comprised of three management representatives (including the Plant Manager) and three worker representatives.  All members are certified as required by law in Ontario.  This committee meets at monthly.
  • We have a regular workplace safety inspection which happens every month.
  • We have monthly "toolbox" safety meetings for all workers to address safety awareness, training and concerns.
  • Workers go through various additional safety training courses specific to their work requirements.
  • We track and report our safety statistics on a monthly basis.
  • Member of IAPA Safety Group
